About the iRobot Roomba Combo™ j9+

The iRobot Roomba Combo j9+ cleans carpets and hard floors with a careful eye and precise navigation. It’s got smart features that let it map your home and keep out of danger — and out of your way. It can even recognize and avoid pet accidents.
It’s also got a retractable mop arm and a multi-function dock that charges the robot, empties its dustbin, and refills its mopping solution. That means you can let it take care of vacuuming, mopping, and its own maintenance, freeing you up to all but forget about it.
Learns your home’s layout as it cleans
The Combo j9+ navigates in neat rows, going under and around your furniture and mapping as it goes. It learns your home over time, so you’ll be able to tell it to clean your whole floor, or just specific rooms. You can also create keep-out zones and customized clean zones within rooms.
It also learns to focus on cleaning the dirtiest areas first based on its cleaning history. If you’re like me and would send it to clean the kitchen three times as often as your office, it’d learn to automatically prioritize your kitchen. And its cliff-detect feature keeps it from falling down staircases and other steep drop-offs.
Advanced navigation
A run-in with pet waste can make a huge mess and terminate a robot vacuum’s usefulness. The story would be funny — unless it happened to you.
The Combo j9+ smartly avoids pet waste, electrical cords, shoes, and other obstacles, thanks to its front-facing navigation camera and built-in AI. And since it gets automatic software updates, its hazard-recognition abilities will only get better with time.
App and voice control
You’ll control the Combo j9+ with the iRobot Home app for Android™ and iOS®. It lets you set up cleaning routines, clean specific rooms, customize zones within rooms, and more.
You can also control it with your voice using Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa devices.
Powerful four-stage cleaning
The Combo j9+’s edge-sweeping brush pulls dirt and dust toward its rubber roller brushes for a thorough clean. The patented roller brushes are designed to avoid tangles from hair, and they really pry into your carpet so the vacuum can suck up embedded sand and other tenacious dirt.
And for hard floors, your Combo j9+ can vacuum and mop — saving you double the effort. The mop arm has an adjustable pad plate that can accommodate wood, tile, slate, linoleum, or whatever type of floor you have. Its soft but durable wicking pad scrubs with 1.16 pounds of downward pressure to leave your floor shiny and clean. And when it senses a rug or carpet, it automatically raises the mop arm to avoid getting your plush floor coverings wet.
A service station for your Roomba
This Roomba comes with iRobot’s quietest and most advanced Clean Base that can handle up to 60 days’ worth of the stuff your Combo j9+ vacuums up. It sucks the dustbin clean when the vacuum docks to charge, storing the dirt in an internal dust-free bag.
The tank in the Clean Base holds up to 30-days’ worth of compatible cleaning fluid, so your robot can also refill while it recharges. The Clean Base also has storage compartments for extra mop pads and bags, so it’s really a full-service station for the j9+.
Other smart features
The Combo j9+ can keep out of your way by starting its cleaning routine after you’ve left the house, if you enable this location-based feature in the app. Its recharge and resume feature automatically sends it back to its base to charge when it senses a low battery, then back out to pick up where it left off. It also can make seasonal cleaning schedule recommendations, like during cat and dog shedding season.
