The iRobot Roomba Combo j5+ cleans carpets and hard floors with a careful eye and precise navigation. It’s got smart features that let it map your home and keep out of danger — and out of your way. It can even recognize and avoid pet accidents.

It comes with two interchangeable bins — one for when you just want it to vacuum and a combo bin for when you want it to vacuum and mop.

Learns your home’s layout as it vacuums

The Combo j5+ navigates in neat rows, going under and around your furniture and mapping as it goes. It learns your home over time, so you’ll be able to tell it to clean your whole floor or just specific rooms. You can also create keep-out zones and customized clean zones within rooms.

It can also see which areas are the dirtiest and give them more attention when you’ve got the vacuum-only bin installed. And its cliff-detect feature keeps it from falling down staircases and other steep drop-offs.

Advanced navigation

A run-in with pet waste can make a huge mess and terminate a robot vacuum’s usefulness. The story would be funny — unless it happened to you.

The Combo j5+ smartly avoids pet waste, electrical cords, shoes, and other obstacles, thanks to its front-facing navigation camera and built-in AI. And since it gets automatic software updates, its hazard-recognition abilities will only get better with time.

App and voice control

You’ll control the Combo j5+ with the iRobot Home app for Android™ and iOS®. It lets you set up cleaning routines, clean specific rooms, customize zones within rooms, and more.

You can also control it with your voice using Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa devices.

Four-stage cleaning

The Combo j5+’s edge-sweeping brush pulls dirt and dust toward its rubber roller brushes and powerful suction. The patented roller brushes are designed to avoid tangles from hair, and they really pry into your carpet so the vacuum can suck up embedded sand and other tenacious dirt.

And for hard floors, your Combo j5+ can vacuum and mop — saving you double the effort. Simply install the included combo bin and fill with your choice of compatible cleaning fluid, and the soft but durable wicking pad will leave your floor shiny and clean.

Automatic dirt disposal

This Roomba comes with iRobot’s j-series Clean Base that can handle up to 60 days’ worth of the stuff your Combo j5+ vacuums up. It sucks the dustbin clean when the vacuum docks to charge, storing the dirt in an internal dust-free bag. This feature only works with the vacuum bin; it is not compatible with the combo bin.

Other smart features

The Combo j5+ can keep out of your way by starting its cleaning routine after you’ve left the house, if you enable this location-based feature in the app. Its recharge and resume feature automatically sends it back to its base to charge when it senses a low battery, then back out to pick up where it left off vacuuming. It also can make seasonal cleaning schedule recommendations, like during cat and dog shedding season.
